Help Timing Light what mark to use????
i just replaced my distributor because its hella leaking, and the coil started to go bad. when i removed the dizzy i marked where the rotor was. it was at number one spark plug. when i installed the thing i put it on the same way it came off with the new dizzy.
motor a d15z1
So i jumped the ecu, checked the timing w/timing gun. i see the white line that is fartest to the firewall and three lines that is together facing front.
There are a total of four lines in all on the crank pulley.
what is the correct timing light to set the mark inline to????
i tried the white line fartest from the other three it seem to bottom out not to even come close to the mark.
what line do i use im confused?????

in the group of 3, use the middle one... the one off by its self is TDC (top dead center)
thre to get it as close the the middle one as you can.. but tecnickly anywhere in thous 3 lines in within spec

If your timing gun has a dial or buttons to set the "advance" then you use the TDC (White) mark with the advance set @ 16. If you have a static gun with no ability to adjust it's flashing point, then you use the Red mark (middle of the three close together).
