Default Help! Test pipe...

I got an Omni test pipe about a week ago. I took off the cat and put the test pipe in its place. I felt more power when i drove it, However there was a problem. THe bunghole where the O2 sensor goes is in a bad spot and it points straight toward the bottom of the car so there isnt enough clearance for the sensor to fit. THe sensor is about 3 inches and the space is two. Not to mention the wires arent long enough so i would have extend the wiring regardless. I have a 99si with an apexi ws. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appriciated. THanks in advance.

it'd be symetrical..so why can't you flip it around w/ the bung facing up?

you could get a new bung put into it...facing down, or even to the side if you want

That's what I was thinking. Or, you could always just get a JDM or EUDM P73 ecu that won't read the secondary 02 and call it a day.
Question: how much louder did your exhaust get without the cat? I'm going to be taking mine off but don't want to be too much louder, nor do I want my exhaust to smell like eggs.

Trust me i considered flipping it but considering my car is lowered (about 4 inches off the ground) the first bump i hit will prob break it right off. Not to mention that the o2 sensor doesnt get a very accurate reading if its upside down. Ill prob just go to muffler shop and have them put a new bung in it.

As for the loudness question...yeah it is a big difference in sound. And i felt more power immediatly. I have the Apexi world sport. J 2 which is a very mellow exhaust in the first place. But without the cat its perfect. Loud but not to loud and not raspy. Very smooth sound. I would recommond it to anyone just dont buy an omni test pipe .
