Wideband Sensor Placement: after resonated test pipe ok?
I have the powercore race cat, which is basically a resonated test pipe with no cat element. I placed the o2 sensor after the exhaust streem goes through the resonated test pipe, is this ok or will my readings be affected?
I searched and after a regular cat the consesus is no good, but what about a resonated test pipe?

You'd want to get the wideband sensor as close as you can from the head. The farther you are from the head, the heat will dissipate and gives you false reading as to the actual temperature are.
Most of time, try to get the wideband around 3-5 inches from the turbo. Even if you're about 18" ish, you'd still be okay, I just think the resonated test pipe will be too far off from the turbo causing you to get a little bit lower number that the actual number.

Re: Wideband Sensor Placement: after resonated test pipe ok? (Flamenco-T)
thanks, so when dyno tuners put the wideband in the tailpipe (non cat cars) this is not as accurate as if they were to put it closer to the head..... just wondering if it is worth it to move the sensor closer forward or just leave it.

Dyno tuners put the sensor in the tailpipe to save time, cause welding in a bung and all that **** will take up more time. Most tuners subtract .75 from the actual reading, and they say thats what the reading would be if the sensor was up by the head.
edit: and i say you move that sensor up closer to the turbo...peace!

Re: (DruWO)
just because I am bored I am going to move it closer to the head and compare those readings to the ones I am getting after the test pipe...... in case anybody else is interested I will post my results........

Re: (acurar0ss)
I moved the sensor up closer to the head (about 18" from the turbo) and my readings are ***** on to the readings after the test pipe. I took readings throughout the rpm range before I moved the sensor and after I moved it forward. I think I am going to leave it after the test pipe since it would be cooler and in the innovate pdf file it says if the sensor is cooler it will last longer.
