Default help...strut brace on honda del sol...

so i've got a matrix strut brace... just got it today... i'm putting this strut brace on a honda del sol s... i kinda test fitted it.. and it looks like there are 2 bolts where the strut is under the hood, in perfect location that it seems like it should be easy... before i try screwing with this too much.. (mind you i don't know much)... i need to know a couple of things...

1) is the strut bolted onto the car by those bolts...
2) is it as easy as it looks...
3) what's the best way to tune it... it looks like there are a couple of tention bolts on the bar itself... if i'm correct in assuming... and this is an assumption...

i've already tried some searches on here for installing strut braces... and not a lot showed up.. expecially for a del sol.. if you could help i'd much appreciate it..

seems like you're new to this. yes the 2 bolts are holding the strut to the car. just remove the nut, install the brace and bolt the nuts back up. leave the adjusting nuts on the bar loose so you can adjust them.

it's pretty straight foward. oh, you don't need the car jacked up to do this. it's actually better with the car on the floor.

its a bolt on affair. Have the car on the ground and take take the2 bolts off the shock tower and bolt the bar on. replace nuts and u are good.

adjustment on the length may be neccesary, but its really simple.

10 Look at your strut tower (where your suspension bolts into from the top) and put the brace bars up to the tower and see what bolts you need to take off.
20 Take off those bolts and place your strut brace brackets where they belong.
3) Tighten those bolts down with a torsion bar.
4) After that just bolt up the bar and tighten it down till it no longer moves.
All set and then take it for a test ride.

ok so i got the brace on.. and took it for a test ride.. and it handles better than i'd imagined.. but there's play in the bar near the brackets.. not left to right play but front to back play.. is that supposed to be there... or did i do something wrong?

I'm not sure if the S has them, but on VTEC models there's 2 bolts above the shock tower that the OEM brace mounts to. The brace doesn't mount to the 2 bolts connected to the shock, they mount to their own dedicated bolts.

Obviously to use them you would need a brace that mounts to those bolts as opposed to the shock towers like most aftermarket braces. So which way to go would depend on which brace you have.

take off the bar and take the bolts that screw into the bar and try to bring them out enough so that they line up with the brackets then remount it. Then grab an ajustable wrench and tighten it done on both sides till it no longer moves.
