Default Help, Short or just screwed?

ok so my cluster lights and shifter lights (auto) went dead a while ago, so i bought these ricey *** blue neon lights to shine on the cluster so i can see how fast im going at night.. well they burnt out, so i figured i better try to fix the problome. im a complete noob when it comes to cars. i read that if i pull the dimmer switch out and make a jumper wire for the red and black wire, it should turn on. i got speaker wire and did it, and it diddnt work. i thought no big deal, ill live with it, but now i got a check engine light. could i have screwed anything up or shorted it out? my tail lights and brake lights work, so i know i diddnt pop a fuse. please give me a little insight haha, thanks

I hate to say it but your gonna have to replace your ecu, wiring harness, motor, and passenger side fender to fix this one.

It's already gone. But seriously I had the same issue and it ended up being my canooter valve.

Yo, i diddnt even think of the canooter valve, it prolly broke cause i forgot to lube my muffler bearings. them two are connected right? bye the way, where can i get vtec fluid? walmart and advanced auto dont seem to keep it in stock. they must hate honda's cause when i asked for it, they laughed at me and told me to search the intarwebz, what ********..

Give me a call later I'll give you a 3.25378 liters of vtec fluid for $84.31 and a half cents. But really make sure you bypassed the dimmer switch, if it doesn't work look for broken/disconnected wires and grounds.

Get a test light and check fuses, all of them.

i connected the ghetto jumper in the red wires socket and the black wires socket, and the lights diddnt come on. its not a fuse, i checked it, plus the cluster lights and the tail lights are on the same fuse, my tails work. the dimmer is a common problome, i know that, maybe i just bypassed it wrong, idk. im going to try to borrow my neighbors obd2 scanner tomorrow to see why the cel is on, ill clear the codes and see if they come back. im not pulling the dash apart just to check grounds, **** that lol, ill just get another set of ricer lights to put on the speedo.

ok so i pulled the codes

* p1300 Ignition component or missfire
* p304 Cylender 4 missfire
* p302 Cylender 2 missfire
* p0420 Catalytic converter

i erased them and it diddnt come back on yet, so hopefully it dont, idk how all of this would just turn on at once haha.
