Help!! Rear disc conversion has left me with AWFUL camber.!
Ok guys i just finished a rear disc conversion to my 94 EG hatch, and now my passengerside rear has awful camber, i have to keep the wheel turned 30 degrees to the left just to drive streight. Any ideas would be great!

Did you replace the rear trailing arms when doing this conversion? New or used parts? Sounds like something you put on is bent to me.

Wait do you mean camber or toe. If you have to hold your steering wheel at about 11:00 your toe is probably off.
If your right wheel has noticable more camber than the other wheel. It could mean a few things. But if it was good before the swap you probably have something bent.
In that case the cheapest way to fix it is to swap the disk brakes themselves onto your old trailing arms. That is if the lca and camber link are good.

well basically, i am useing my lca's from my Stock car, becuase i had to cut the others off the disc conversion......if it was bent wouldnt it not line up properly, and thus the bolts would not fit? im really stumped here, the other side is fine.......

I had the same problem after doing my 5 lug swap.
What you need to do is go and get an alignment. Its normal for your camber/toe to be off, when you consider you pretty much took off your rear assembly and put it back on.
After an alignment your car should be fine.

thats what i was thinking, but the more i think about it, it could be bent....... because its only on ONE side, and the car i got the disc conversion off of was in an accident, and fliped.

its impossible for you camber to be off if everything is stright and in working order.
honda's are not adjustable for camber so unless something is bent you not talking about camber
now yes i know when you lower a car you get camber but thats changing the suspention dynamics.
but there is an adjustment arm for "toe" that connects the rear trailing arm to the car, i bet if you look at that its not were the old one was or were the one from the other side is

Ok well after 7 posts of guessing, now we know all the details. Next time please state all the details in the first post so we can better understand the situation.
Now....since we know its from a wrecked car, the chances of it being bent has increased. Did you not look to see if the items you were buying were bent? especially if they were from a wrecked car!
If you didn't take the time to look at what you bought...then thats all on you.
Take a look under you car and compare the two side of the car- all the things that you replaced/added. You should be able to tell if something is bent. IF nothing is bent then get an alignment.

well i bought the car in the first place for the motor, and as a bonus it had rear disc, I will check again and compare the two sides, i know about the trailing arm toe, i took it all apart and put it exactly back where the clean spots were indicating the stock loaction.....however what will the allingment do that i cannot......i just hate spending money on something i can do.

An alignment is not very easy to do on your own. If you don't have the proper machine, its all trial and error. In my opinion its worth the money, but you can try to do it. I believe there is an adjustment arm right around the rear trailing arm- you should be able to find it...you adjust that back and forth to increase/decrease toe.

i see well i checked both assemblys front to back and they look identical, doesnt look bent at all, im schedualed for a allingment next week, will see what they can do and take it from there, ill keep you guys posted. thanks for the help

Can't you do your alignment by measuring the distance between a spot on the front part of the front tires, and than measure the back part of them, and adjust from there? Same apply's to the back.

Check the eye holes where the ebrake cable comes through ... I replaced a rear trailing arm and couldnt tell except for the hole being slightly bowed. Remember to throw off the whole alignment could just be a very small unnoticeable bend causing everything to buckle.

good point, well i dont wanna take the whole thing off again untill i no something for sure, ill take her to front end allingment. and see what they can do, if nothing ill switch the disc to my old trailing arm.

Why would you check the front end alignment for a rear camber problem?
Anyway, the camber isn't adjustable from the factory in the rear, so obviously something is installed wrong or one of your replacement parts is bent pretty badly.
Unless you don't mean camber, and you mean toe, but if toe is that noticeably fucked, you have some major bent **** in there.

when i say front end allingment they do the whole car, not just the front, yes i mean toe not camber. In addition if its bent, its not much becuase i couldnt tell at all when i had them side by side

Thanks guys for your help, fixed the problem today, switched disc conversion onto stock trailing arm and everything lined up perfectly, couldnt tell it was bent but i guess it was....also another problem came up, when i was putting the top control arm back on, (the top 2 14mm bolts i fucked up and striped the **** outta them) to the point were they went in to a point then just spun.......what is the possibly fix for this, i know this is a BIG problem.....anyone have ideas?
