HELP PROBLEM: idle goes up and down check engine light reads IACV on swapped Vtec motor
Alright so i did a swap on a vtec motor. One's for an EG with a b16 in it and ones a EK with a single Vtec in it. Both cars making the same symptom. Both RPM's keep fluctuating up and down everytime it revs around 2k rpm. Any help do i have any problem with the IACV i switched IACV and checked if the ones on the car are broken but it still did the same help would be greatly appreciated.

Might have the sensor plugs the wrong way around. Like that happened to me when I mixxed up the IACV plug with the Knock sensor plug.

1. vacuum leak
2. dirty or faulty IACV, or faulty wiring to IACV
3. clogged PCV valve
Easy, no cost solutions:
1. spray carb cleaner or butane around parts that mate together, head to manifold, manifold to throttle body, sensors, etc. if idle changes in response to this, definite vacuum leak
2. clean your iacv's with brake cleaner
3. (almost no cost) replace PCV valve... simple to do, and they're like $2. if it's faulty, you can shake it and you won't hear any rattling. a good PCV will rattle when you shake it.
