Default Help the overheating is getting worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ok here's the situation. I have a 00 Civic Si and it's overheating. I thought it may be the thermostat, but after changing it.... it overheats a lot faster. Now the upper radiator hose gets hot as hell but the lower stays cold. I was thinking it's the water pump but I'm not for sure someone please hook me up with some answere. Thanks

Mike

hmmmm.....
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by B18C5-EH2 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Best way to check for a faulty thermostat:

Crank the car and let it get up to nomal operating temp, which should be just under halfway on your temp gauge.

Feel the upper hose on the radiator - hot right?

Now feel the lower hose - it too should be hot, but if it isn't then that means your thermostat isn't working. If the hose feels cool to the touch then you need to replace your thermostat.

If your therm. isn't working right then your cooling fan will not work either.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

sounds like you installed the new one wrong, or you bought a defective one. i know a lot of those cheap thermostats you get at autozone are defective. when mine went on my last car, they sold me 2 defective ones!!!!
