HELP!!! Noise after rear disc conversion....
I just put Integra brakes on my 1996 CX civic hatchback.
There is a repedative knocking noise coming from my rear passenger side wheel when driving. Any ideas on what I might be? I also replaced the pads on the rear disc.
TIA

When I swapped integra rear trailing arms onto my EJ6, the hub bearing units weren't in great condition. Sounded like a whirring, helicoptor like noise.
After a few years of that, I said enough.
I ordered new rear hub units from Honda. The old Del Sol VTEC units have the same part number as the GSR units. But the 99-00 Si units I'm almost positive will work aswell. The only difference being the Del Sol ones have the ABS ring, and the Si don't.
The Si one's are also a bit cheaper. My Del Sol units were $230 , and that was with a friend at Honda hook-up.

An easy way to check if it's the bearings - jack the car up, remove the rear wheels, and spin the hubs by hand. If it makes a grinding noise, that's the problem.

A buddy of mine had that happen when he did his rear disc conversion. I can't remember what sound he descibed it as, but he did say that the center of the wheel, lugnuts, and all surrounding area were way too hot to touch after driving on the freeway.
He ended up having his calipers rebuilt. I did a quickie rebuild on my calipers before I did the brake swap (just replaced the main piston o-ring seal & dust boot). Good luck finding the rebuild kits though. I had to actually buy them through a brake part wholesaler. But this was years ago, so maybe they're more available now.
Good luck. I've always questioned junk yard upgrades. 4-wheel disc brakes , having to replace/rebuild just about everything on the damn trailing arm .
