I just made brackets for my friends NRG type R replica (i think thats what they are) and they were pretty good for big people, alot of room, but i didnt like the back support part. It was to stiff for daily driving.

What you have to do is go to Autobac and seat on all there seats thye ahve out in the open. Find out which you like best and then by it on ebay.

Though it is a jumbled up mess, this is a good point. Before you buy any seat, IMO, you should sit in it. Make sure you like the way it supports you and if it is comfortable. Though it sounds like this will be a race car (I hope to god it is since there will be a cage), then you probably won't be sitting in it for 5+ hour road trips.

yah, the seats you are looking at dont look that bad... but like u said, im not too sure about the color
if u ask me, that looks like a pretty good deal, i might see about getting me a few of those myself.. but see if your rents would get you a set of 2 for your b-day since they are reasonably cheap =]

Generally, you don't want to buy a fixed-back seat without sitting in it first for a test-fit. Also, I would suggest buying a high-quality used seat over a low-quality, inexpensive new one. With new seats, you typically get what you pay for - the majority of cheap seats will have poor ergonomics, low quality materials that wear out quickly, and sub-par safety standards. FIA 8855-1999 certified seats are certified for a reason, and not just to charge extra money. I picked up an $800 Sparco seat in lightly used condition for $450 last year at a track event, and the FIA sticker date was only a year old.

If you intend to use a harness, which you should be doing with most fixed-back seats, make sure you get a seat with a hole in the bottom to properly route the anti-submarine strap(s). Also, do not install the seat/harness until you have rollover protection already in place. And finally, you'd better be wearing a helmet whenever you drive this car if you're going to be installing a complete roll cage. If this is a street car, I would highly recommend just sticking with a roll bar.

In conclusion, I would recommend sitting on your savings for now, rather than letting the money burn a hole in your pocket and blowing it right away on a crappy seat. Save a little longer and buy a quality piece - you won't regret it. $250 just won't get anything decent shipped to your door.

if i were you id look into t more if you can just save the 250.. then save the cristmas money and then just start looking at various seats to get a feel for what you want.. is the car gonna be for track use?? is it a daily driver?? how important it driveabilt as oppsed to comfort.. all of these are things you should take in toconsideration when choosing a seat.. good luck

APC, just take off logo. Their seats aren't that bad. I was able to get a pair for 160 bones shipped. They work great in my bros and mine rail.
