Default Help Me

I just installed my strut bar and its on a D16Y7 throttle body. It bar sit right on top of the intake where I have the tube that leads to the head and its sitting on it. I couldnt use the two bolts at each end so I took on off of each side and positioned it slightly higher. Is it ok if I took that one bolt off the strut bar? I took it for a test druve and everything seems fine. I just dont want it to cause me a problem in the future. I will post pics up in a few mins. Thanks!

i have the same problem. it will end up vibrating against the hood
and making alot of noise. i hate that stupid set up. too bad i have
a b18c going in soon so i won't have to worry about this thing any
more. if your not keeping the oem set up go with a aem intake system it
will elimanate this dumb air box unit.

Here are the pics. The car doesnt make abnormal noises or virbrate. Its just that I wanted to know if using only on bolt will be ok and if it sits on the tube is that also ok?

Here you can see it sitting on top of the tube thingy.

Closer shot.

Full shot.

i would think you would want the added stability of the secondary bolts. how close is the strut bar from the hood? maybe you could add some washers underneath the strut bar to raise it a bit above the intake and allow you to use the other bolts... but then it might get too close to the hood. what a predicament.

i dont know exactly how close it is. Its a good idea to put the washers but...... what would you guys recommed? Would that hurt its stability to put the washers on?

washers wouldn't be good...it's only resting on that black breather tube, correct?? Is it pinching it? Cause all it is is a breather tube for the valve cover. Here's what you should do...
1. Take off breather hose assembly
2. Get a rubber cap(from Schucks, Napa, whatever), and cap off the nipple off of the intake pipe
3. Route the hose down out of the way from the valve cover and get a little breather filter( K&N or a cheap one for like 5 bucks)
- You're hose is out of the way, and if you do it right, can look better with a dope looking little filter.Actually, if there's room, run the breather filter right off of the nipple from the valve cover, and get rid of the hose completely

I fixed it. What I did was I cut the hose alittle shorter and I readjusted the intake and pushed it further down away from the strut bar. I also added a washer on each bolt. Now there is about a half an inch gap between the strut bar and the tube thingy.
