Help installing head unit in 96 hatchback
First off i got a 96 hatch and im putting in an alpine cda-9851 i got my wiring right and i got the lower dash off, i got the dash with the single din opening with the ac controls under the radio, and i dont see how to remove the climate controls, i was told it popped out and to just pop it out by the clips but this doesnt seem to work and it seems like it would mess up the dash if i try any more, second how does the antenna plug into the radio? is it part of the wiring harness? i thought it plugged into the radio separate from the wiring harness? i traded the radio in it for some work to be done on the car and my mechanic removed the other radio, mistake i see now letting him remove it b/c of the antenna issue, i have searched this on here and another civic site someone please give me some help so i can get my car back together!!!
thanks
thanks

Im pretty sure theres a screw that goes into the bottomn of the climate control to hold it in place. Look under the climate control, i think the screw is somewhere in the middle. The antenna is a seperate plug, it should be in down in there somewhere.

Re: (93Civac)
Heres a pic I just took of my car. The red circle shows where the screw is located that holds the climate control in place, you have to get it from the bottomn though. The blue circle is the antenna wire. Hope this helps.

There are two screws underneath the climated control. Basically if you had a drink in the drink holder and the screw was lose it'd fall in (just to give you an idea where they are)

What are you installing underneath? Scosche makes a din adapter to mount into the civic dash panel. Crutchfield sell them, Or go to circuit city or similiar store.

first of all u dont need to take the whole car appart to do this. i installed my alpine headunit in my hatch without taking my dash apart. as long as the wires are connected. u just install the head unit installation kit and slide it right in.
p.s. if u plan on putting a sub and an amp and everything. i would wait before u just slide it in. because once its in, its more than a bitch to get back out. found that out the hard way
