I am trying to install springs... the front is successful, the rear isn't. The bolt appears to be seized. I tried heating then using impact gun. Is it a welded bolt or nut on strut/shock?

make sure you are turning the bolt itself, and not the welded nut on the shock.

since you are from up north, i would assume the car has been through a lot of winters / rust.

i would also buy some PB blaster and giving it another go.
