Help with DIY Throw out bearing
New to the forum, and my 93 civic needs a new throw out bearing. Have no clue on how to change it. If anyone would provide help, with pictures prefferably, that would be great. I'm trying to learn and want to work on my car myself. Thanks, coupe btw, idk if it matters

Remove slave cylinder, then jack under the block, and then a engine hoist on the trans, remove mounts, unbolt trans, pull trans from the block, then you have access to the throwout. Sounds easy, but it's not a great first timer job. I think you should work with someone who is experienced on this one.

are you sure it's your throw out bearing and not your input shaft bearing, does the noise go away with the clutch put in, if so you need a new input shaft bearing which requires tearing apart the tranny case and shift forks a little more complicated but not to terrible.

Actually not my first DIY. I have done a few engine and tranny removals and know what's going on... But most of the cars I have worked on were Automatics. And yes the sound goes away when I step on the clutch. I was told from a mechanic that it was my throw out bearing that needed to be replaced. These tranny's aren't bad to work with after working with V6 trannys. First time dealing with a clutch and the whole whatnot that involves a stick

I'll just change the whole clutch out. I don't know if the throw out bearing causes this, but it feels as though the whole transmission jerks sometimes when I shift. Mostly on higher rpm's. I can feel the whole shift stick jerk forward. IDK what it is, but hopefully when I change the clutch, it will be ok.
