2000 Civic LX sedan, D16Y7 motor.

The transmission is making a whirring noise when the clutch pedal is out, but upon stepping down on the pedal, the noise stops. After some searching, the ISB is determined to be at fault.

My question is, while the tranny is out, should any other bearing be replaced? A new clutch was said to be installed about 26,000 miles ago, so the throw out bearing should still be good. I read the thread on transmission bearing failures & causes, it makes me wonder if I should replace the pilot bearing as well?

i dont think theres an pilot bearing on that honda.. not typically found on transversly mounted tranmission, moreso on the rwd transmission with longer nippe input shaft.

there is a pilot.
when i do an input brg, i do an input shaft seal also. if you are goin into it that far, any bearing that is crunchy, replace them.

That's the thing, I need to figure out if any other bearings are failing before I make the order, so I can get it all done in one shot.

Another thing I noticed is if the car is rolling and I press the clutch pedal down, I can hear what sounds like a bad bearing (slight whirring sound), but when the car is stopped, the noise stops. It doesn't make the noise while rolling with the clutch pedal out, only when it's pressed in while rolling. Would that be the ISB as well?

Also, would #11 be the pilot bearing?

Theres no way to tell you what to replace without taking the tranny apart and actually checking to see what bearings are bad. Number 11 is the mainshaft bearing btw, the pilot bearing presses into the flywheel and normally comes with a clutch kit. If its making noise with the clutch pedal depressed think throwout/release bearing.

dam, when i changed my clutch i was wondering where the pilot bearing went. i changed the flywheel and never put the pilot bearing in. i hope it stayed in the flywheel when i changed em out. how do u change them?
