help! code 10, ECT sensor causing vtec to not work??
i just recently installed a skunk2 manifold on my 94 gsr motor. i have a 97 ek.
since i installed this, my vtec stopped working. i checked my CELS and i got 6,10, 54.
6- IAT (intake air temp)
10- ECT (engine coolant temp)
54- CFK (crank flunkuation)
i know its not 6 and 54 because it doesnt effect vtec. i checked my ECT and its the right plug and everything. could it be my ECT? how do i fix this? my temp on my guage cluster still works so i dont know if it has anything to do with it but yeah can anyone help? any suggestions? thanks.

VTEC has to be at a certain temp to engage. If you dont replce the ECT, your car will have a hard time starting when hot. There like 30 bucks at NAPA. I had to replace mine. That is probably your problem.

Re: (ek-to-tha-max)
I would check to make sure it is installed correctly. Look for pinched wires, or loose connections, or air in the cooling system somewhere. The temp gauge runs off a coolant temp SENDER.... simple thermistor, and the ECM (vtec) uses the coolant temp SENSOR.... they are different.
