Is Coolant Temp Sensor related to Vtec Engagement?
Throwing Code 6 as well as 14. I know what they are, but aside from these two codes, Vtec is not engaging. Oil Level is good, Screen in the Vtec Solonoid is clean..Ran across a thread while searching for info on my cels that mentioned that vtec would not engage if the coolant sensor was bad? Is there any truth in this statement? Thanks for the help..

for the vtec to engage coolent temp needs to be at 180 this is true
as far as those cels i dont know , your speedo needs to be past 25 mph
for it to work also my car threw a code and vtec dident engage when
my vss broke.

Never heard that... stock coolant temp sensor doesn't detect minor changes in temp... so I don't see how that would help w/ vtec engagement.
The fuel delivery does reference the temp sensor tho....
