Solice

So, my car '93 civic Si) has a really bad idle. I've heard that it's supposed to be some screw in the iacv, but I've never looked into that. Also, recently, if I turn the headlights on too quick, the running/dash lights turn off. I have to back the dial back to the running light setting, hope they turn on, then s l o w l y turn the dial 'till the headlights turn on without the running/dash lights go off. Finally, sometimes my headlights start dimming like my battery was dying or my alternator was going. The thing is, the alternator is just a few years old, and the battery is new a few months ago. Could this be that the car's idle is so low that it can't get the alternator running properly? Any help would be appreciated.
