Default help! car stops working after months of driving?

*UPDATE* fuel pump works when hooked up to battery. Doesnt work when it's hooked up to the car. Is this a relay problem. I switched my relay with a loner relay still didnt work, but maybe that relay was bad too because it is used and it looks a little smaller so maybe it's not the right one.

ANY IDEAS?

92cx hatch with GSR swap. Car has been driven for several months since the swap with no problems. The Car was idling fine in the parking lot while I waited for my friend to come out of the bank. I go to drive off the car stalls. Try turing the engine back on cranks, but wont start.

I replaced the distributor cap rotor and plug wires hoping that would fix it. There was some blue build up on one of the wires causing it to break apart during removal. NO dice, still wont start.

My friend's foot might have kicked the ECU so i tried swaping the ecu with a p28 i had, still no go. all the wires going to the ecu look fine as well.

Any suggestions?? thanks honda-tech

what kind of stall? just straight out die out of the blue in a quarter of a second? no chance to give it gas? check the ignitor yet?

Interestingly enough i just answered something exactly like this...so here is what i wrote him.

Could be ignition coil or ECM for ignition.

For me, the ignition coil was my source. My car started sputtering like a CHAMP. So i replaced plugs and that fixed it. Then days after, my car bogged out and died randomly after idling for about 30 seconds, and would not restart. It still sent spark, checked by grounding plugs to engine bay and looking. But it wasnt enough. Replaced coil and blam no probs since 2 months ago.

If no go, check for main relay, see if its priming fuel pump. If so, check if fuel rail is actually getting the fuel pressure. That would rule out fuel from the equation.

ok i dont think i hear the fuel pump priming. I'll try a new main relay. Would a main relay from a 98 integra be the same?

From a diff generation...possibly not. Locate your main relay. If anyone knows where it is on his car, feel free to post.

Grab it, and the housing will have an "rz-xxxx" number on it. Go to the junkyard or eBay and get one with that number.

Also, you will KNOW if its priming or not. Just listen carefully. Do you hear a tick when you first put the key in the "on" position. Then, it should whine high pitch for 2 seconds, which is the duration that the check engine light comes on. Then, when the check engine lights goes off, you should here a distinct CLICK. If no, then yes sir, its your relay. I know, because I just did mine 7 days ago.

or you can just resolder your main relay if that's what's bad. take the lid off and check for cracks in the solder.

You can. I did. I fucked up. I ghetto rigged it after being stranded for a day. It works again.

I melted the contact pin off. Had to splice a copper wire realllly thin and shove it down to touch the remaining pin, and solder it in place. I bet it will die on my in traffic one day, about a year later. Sweet!

BTW. New main relays are 35 dollars

ur car's still dead?
Ground problems lead to failure in electron flow...or electricity current...
Possible causes can be dirtiness of any kind that can block flow of e-...
Your fuel pump works but it doesnt "prime". Means something's wrong there...

Ur distributor can only fail if there's a leak of oil getting inside to the ignition coil which causes it to not spark. 99% of the time it happens when the car has been off...not idling...
