No that's not normal. If it's blue-ish smoke, thats burnt oil. If it's white-ish, that's steam and you're getting coolant in your cylinder(s). This happens to older/high mileage engines and/or engines that get the **** REVVED OUT OF THEM ALL THE TIME.
