HELP! Brakes went out!! 95 dx hatch..
Tried the search menu but couldnt find anything. So please HELP!
So today i was driving home from a buddy's house 45 mins away. As i was about to turn on my street and applied the brakes. It wouldnt stop ! Luckily i didnt hit the curb as a caught it at the last moment. And luckily it didnt go out when i was on the highway or streets. OMG.. Weird thing is that i was thinking about it today to " What if my brakes went out" just Jinx myself
When i try to apply or press on the brakes when im not moving or moving it just goes all the way down and barely stops. When you pump the brake it feels like it doesnt want to squeeze. Is it the master cylinder? brake lines? brakes?!!! PLEASE HELP ME H-T! thanks

it could be brake lines, master cyl. or air in the lines. However, I doubt its air in the lines if it just happened out of the blue. Start checkin' your lines, thats where I'd start.

check your brake fluid. if that's ok then check your lines...then just bleed your brakes....it only takes a few minutes with someone helping you.

If all your brakes went out like you said I'd doubt its a brake line because the system isolates the brakes into two halves so if one goes out you don't lose the whole system. Something similar happened to me a few weeks back, I was driving and I go to stop hmmm I cant not good. I replaced the master cylinder and it happened to fix my problem. Id check into something like that tho for the whole system to go out that's about the only thing they ALL depend on.
Also the e-brake has nothing to do with your brakes going out, Its a different braking system all toghter usually a cable operated one.

update..
also check the passenger side brake line.. theres a huge gash/cut in it.. found the leak..
Now how much should break lines go for? should i get both sides? should i upgrade to steel lines? any suggestions would help..
also how do i take the break line out? i got all the bolts out but the last one buy the springs.. the highest one.. like i took the one out on the caliper, control arm, strut, then the last upper one with the steel line connected to it????
