Help with blackhousing headlights!
I've read the other DIY's and I've been following the instructions on it. It turned out beautiful, but before I lay out more silicone I want to get rid of the old stuff first. It was leaking before so I want to make sure that it's sealed perfectly this time. What is on there doesnt really look like silicone, more like a puddy.... anyone know how to get it off efficiently and quickly? Peeling it off with my fingernails is taking me forever, and I've tried paint thinner and these special sanding pads to take it off and no lucky yet. Ill post up pics of my results, as soon as I can get this gum **** off!
Thanks in advance!

Best bet is to just take your time with a razor blade. when you re-seal them, just make sure that you lay the sealent really even before putting the plastic cover back on, press it together as tight as you can then let it sit naturally, you should get a good seal. Good luck

I would just put them back in the oven, while its still soft add a little more clear silicone to help seal it, if u run ur finger over it and smooth it will look a little cleaner.

but to you guys who DIY headlight baking... do you still use that oven for food?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I do. As long as you put it on a baking sheet or even tin foil, it will be fine.
