Help b16 timming belt replaced at local workshop (in spain) and noises everywhere
Hi there
A workshop has replaced my timing belt, and know i've 2 strange noises which for the moment are unidentified, first was just a noise coming from Cyl 1 or distributor but today there is a noise coming from the belt side which has me terrified
have you ever heard noise like these? what could the problem? a problem with the timming belt tension? P/S pump? also car sometimes won't start last time had to start giving it some gas otherwise it won't start by itself
a few videos.
1st a rattling noise coming from 4th cylinder or distributor
1st and 2nd video > sounds like a bolt is lose inside or something like that
3rd video > Timing Belt or belt noise inside car and car won't start by itself
4th video > Timming belt noise outside
I'll really appreciate your help!
Kind regards

DIstributors do have a bearing inside that eventually wears out. This is probably unrelated to the work recently done. To diagnose this, you would remove the cap and detach the distributor from the engine, and turn it by hand.
Did they replace the water pump and tension roller as well, or only the belt? Did you get to see your old parts to prove that they did it?
After replacing timing belt, the spark timing should be checked and adjusted using a timing light. Not doing that can cause problems with starting as well as performance and gas mileage.

hi there, i also think that, the noise coming from the cyl4 / distributor may be the distributor bearing, because it rattles specially when cold and isn't always going with the rythm of engine
they've replaced the water pump, tensioner, spring, etc. and all the belts
the noise coming from the belts appeared today after driving 10 mins. so i don't know if there is something wrong with the belt tension, the belt itself, if it's missaligned, the water pump, the Ps pump.. etc
I've never heard a noise like that
