Default HELP

yea so this week has brought about more promlems, my boy's boosted Si is makin another weird noise. We're guessin tranny cause he just had the motor rebuilt last summer. This motor was done with nothin but the best in parts and its compression is at 9:1, so we guessin its the tranny. Honestly, all i hear is a clunk clunk clunk everytime he's drivin it. It also shuts off when he's drivin, my guess was distributor because his plugs are brand new. If anybody has any tranny for the b16 or possibly even a GSR tranny, let me kno, thanks

ahhh idk, just a serious clunk especially when he shifts, we were thinkin the motor, but that was out of the question because of the re-build last summer. its his everyday car and he keeps it at about 9psi, nothin serious, but he's an idiot anyway lol, i'll keep you guys posted

so the clunk sound happens when he shifts, or whenever the wheels are rotating? please make a better description.

Mostly when he's just in gear and driving, i took a shot at maybe axel or half shaft, but still the possibility of it being the tranny is still open. It was actin up about 2000 miles ago, started grinding going in and out of 3rd, even when downshiftin, i'll keep you guys posted, thanks

the 3rd gear grind is common. its usually the synchros, but people have recently found different stuff.

a clunk noise could be the axle assembly.

a "clunk" noise happened to me once. i just retorqued my rims, and it went away.
