TECH HELP!!! Possible Axle or Tranny Problem! Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, here is my Dilemma... Car is a 99CivicEX MT
I don't know if this is my axle, clutch or what, but when I am going straight, after about 4200 RPMS I hear this whining rough noise down by my tranny.
It also whines when I turn hard right. Keep in mind it doesn't click, just whines.
I searched B18C5-EH2's thread, but it really didn't help me diagnos it.
If anyone has any Idea what this could be, I would really appreciate it.

there might be a cracked boot from the axel to the tranny or maybe a throwout bearing.

Thanks man, I read your post and investigated the possible t/o bearing.
UPon further investigation, I found this out...
When I'm going, it makes a whining noise, I push the cluth in, it goes away. It's gotta be axle or clutch assembly, right? Anybody have any other further ideas, lmk.
