heating question? or cooling
i know we got a tech forum but you dont really get answers there.....the forum moves too fast.
anyway, wondering if you can help me out or let me know a reason why.......why my temp gauge would start to raise if i am sitting at idle for a while. Then when i get on the throttle it would fall to normal temp. wat controls this?

sounds more like an air bubble in the coolant...
make sure timing isn't too far advanced & set properly...
is your thermostat working? fans coming on?
but if all else fails, maybe the water pump...

Make sure the fan is coming on when the car gets hot. Mine does the same thing because the fan doesn't come on. I think the problem is the engine coolant temperature switch. It's located to the right of the radiator on the block. I just wired a switch to the fan until I can fix mine and that works for now.
