heater core?
so i just changed my head gasket a week ago and ive been babying it so i can break it in lol but when i turn my heater on it smells like antifreeze? is that the heater core going out? the other day i was driving it 20 miles to a different town and the temp gauge was at the dot in the middle and then i let off the gas and coasted down a hill and the temp gauge dropped almost to cold and stayed that way till i shut the car off and headed back the whole way back it was at the dot in the middle? opinions? lol thanks

Re: heater core?
sounds like the heater core depends where you smell antifreeze from tho . keep checking you fluids to make sure the head gasget is ok . do you have any fluids inside of the car feel the carpet up under the dash in the center console usually that will tell you

Re: heater core?
If you have antifreeze smell inside the car, most likely its a heater core going bad, or a leaking hose. As for the temp gauge, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open.
