ive done it, what do you want to know? You just buy the whole assembly from a 96-96 if you have a 99-00. Easy as pie.

i havent done this, but it shouldnt be too difficult. Take out the entire console, so you can get to the back of the radio and such. take out your headunit and disconnect everything. You will need to relocate the wire harness down to the bottom also you will need to relocate the mounting hardware or find a way to rig up a way to hold the headunit in down there. Alot of people do it. so it shouldnt be hard. NOOW you can get a 99-00 climate control console, and have a nice big open space to put in that tv that you have always wanted

my brother was planning on keeping his factory deck up top, and buying an alpine deck, and putting it in the slot near where the cupholder is. he says that it would be hard to see if he took the face off, and left the cupholder lid up. sounds like a good idea to me.
