Headlight is dull

Headlight is dull
in my 96 civic, my left headlight works, it turns on, but it is extremly dull. if somebody could tell me what the problem is i would really appreciate it. thanks

it is a common problem iwth the 96-98 civic headlights.
I got some rubbing compound and a bunch of elbow greese and cleaned my up to the point of OK. but really I just want to replace the damn things with something aftermarket (sealing them up myself with more silicone).
I did have a power sander i took to them at one point too, it just depends on how bad they are.

if you want, you can go to an auto parts store and pick up some meguiar's plastic cleaner and polish. use lots of elbow grease, they'll look good as new.

no that isnt the problem, im sorry i didnt make it clear, i was in school and rushing to post it before i got caught 
. the casing is just fine(little dirty around seal) its the bulb, it isnt getting enough power. it turns on(slow might i add) but it isnt as bright as the right bulb. im thinking its got a bad connection somewhere but im not sure. and im sorry again for being unclear about the problem. and thanks again
