headlight delay
Could someone give me some ideas on what might be
wrong with my headlights? When I bought the car in may I noticed
when I turned the headlights on they take around 5 to 15 seconds to
come on after I hit the switch. Now that it is 20 degrees outside, it takes
between 30 and 90 seconds for them to come on. I am tense that eventually
they won't turn on at all. A tech at a honda dealer told me it was the switch itself,
but he didn't test it and I thought I would check if this is common or someone knows how to fix it. Thanks for any help.

Find a multi-meter, and flip to the section in your Helms manual that tells you how to test a relay, specifically the relay(s) for the headlights... you may have a bad one. That was the first thing that came to my mind when I read this...

Ya, testing the relay was the first thing that came to me to, but this friend
who works at the dealer said that my car didn't have headlight relays!! I knew
I should have looked into that, but I don't have one of those manuals yet. Do you
know what the resistance of a headlight relay would be then?

Re: headlight delay (coconutsoldier)
We're going to see if it's that headlight switch then.
Lets turn your lights on without the switch to see if that's the problem. You'll need 3 pieces of 2" wire with stripped ends. Twist each wire end good so it doesn't fray. On your 7pin connector that's on the car's wiring harness, insert your first wire to conect terminals B1 and B2 (according to picture.) With the second piece of wire, connect terminals B4 and B6. With the last piece of wire, connect terminals B3 and B6. When you finish making this connection, your headlights will be switched on. If there's no delay, repeat the process twice more to be certain. If there's no delay again, find yourself a new combination switch (turn signal sw/light sw) Let me know what happens.

Good info. I'm pretty sure it's your switch as well. Mine did the same thing for a while. They seem to wear out easily.

Re: headlight delay (CycloneBlue_1.6EL)
Hey Alex. Thanks again.
I have got the switch unplugged and I just need for it to get
real cold again, since that is when it is the worst. I will let
you know.
