Default Which header for my 99 SI????

Did a quick search but didn't find much. Motor is basically stock and not shooting for extreme speed. Its a daily driver that I take to the track sometimes for fun. No plans for turbo or anything. Just have a CAI right now and the CTR intake cam and gears are going on soon.

Leaning towards the DC sports ceramic coated header but not sure if I want 4-1 or 4-2-1. Probably keeping the exhaust stock for now or untill I find one that is quiet with good power gains.

Thanks in advance.

A DC header is probably hte best bang for the buck. I don't know too much about different brands that may or may not be good. A 4-2-1 will give you more low-to-mid range power where as a 4-1 will give you more top end power increase. If it's jsut a daily driver that you wanan make a little quicker than a 4-2-1 would probably be the way to go. I had a ceramic DC 4-2-1 1piece header on my old del Sol and it was nice. Nice little power increase and it got hte job done. That's my advice.

Good Luck!!

The best bang 4 the buck to me is the JDM OEM Type r header good gains and will the heat shield it will still give you that stock look . Or you can go with dc JDM 4-1 header.

Dc normal headers got give that much power cause the outlet is just like stock you just get better air flow.

Or you could save the header money for some internals and really be happy and get some good gains. Hope that helps you out. Lates

the difference between 4-2-1 and 4-1 and that.
4-2-1 will give you low end power, and 4-1 will give you high end power. Thats it.
hope this helps

Alright, this may be a stupid question but is the DC JDM 4-1 header meant for the 1.8 and will it sit too low with my b16? I don't want it to sit any lower than stock and scrape.

if i was you i would definantely go with the 4-1. That seems to be the best choice for the high revving b series engines

actually waffles posted some dyno charts not too long ago showing that the 4-2-1 made more power than the 4-1.

pretty much if your going to go dc I have heard nothing but good about the dc 4-1 jdm header, i wouldnt go with ceramic but thats personal preference.

There is no point in buying a 4-2-1 header now and then later down the line blowing money for the 4-1 and then having extra parts laying around in your garage... its best just to save the money up and get all the damn parts you want and put them on one by one make sure you dont have any issues, then install the next part.

Thats just me, there is no point for me to bust my *** to get 500 bucks and get a header to go faster for no reason...

I have pretty much realized with the si platform if you want to go faster go fi... if you want to go na then ditch the b16.
It will be a money pit that will net you results you will never reach with that engine that the b18 platform is more than capable of.

I am still quite skepticle about the wholy hybrid motor **** because of longtime realibility because I drive the **** out of my si, and I have nothing but a cai and a twin loop and 1300 dollars worth of engine work done on the internals and its got the same tq pull a car with i/h/e has and a little more than that.

I am sure if I got a header and a bigger exhaust pipe I would see a 10 whp jump and more with an itr manifold and cams with a hondata making sweet love to all of those parts... but thats an extra 1000 bucks for 20 hp.

I think ill stick with selling my si semi hooked up to some dumbshit for 8 grand and getting a used gsr with an itr front .

thats my 2 cents.

I went with the DC 4-1. I love it. Great top end gains.

the 4-2-1 header on the si does make more power then the standard 4-1 except at the very top of the power band where the 4-1 takes the 4-2-1 in peak gain, but the jdm dc 4-1 with 2.5'' collector will make more horsepower then presented with the right amount of other bolt ons. As for exhaust, i had the greddy power extreme, newly designed and called evo now. that exhaust is great for power and sound. the sound is deep throaty sounding non rice exhaust. gl all
