Default 4-1 or 4-2-1???

i have a pos d15b7 that i plan to either sell and get a d16z6 or do a mini-me to. but until then i just want to do a few little things.....

question is what would be a better header for my car, a 4-1 header or a 4-2-1 header. also with the 4-1 header will there be clearance issues?

this is a daily driven car also.

thanks
-sean

well this is what everybody says about headers....

4-1 if you want good top end power

4-2-1 if you want mid-range power

eh.

To me because I have a steet car and wanted a good all around power additive so I went w/ the DC sports Ceramic 4-2-1 and I noticed a nice diff through the RPM band after the install.
Good luck and hope this helps...
Oh I also have a hi-flow cat and 2 1/4 exhaust..On a D15b7 as well....

yup that definetly helps,

im just kinda confused! i have one person telling me that 4-1 is the best you can get and i'd be stupid not to buy it, then on the other hand i read companies pages and read posts like yours and it tell me the complete opposite.

okay,

im pretty sure i'll go 4-2-1, unless somebody proves to me why 4-1 would be better.

Not sure on that bro..some poeple just want to make some $$ too..
I mean just telling you what I spent my hard earned $$ on and it game me an improvement.

I know a friend that has a 4-1 and it's on a B16 and he daily drives it but doesn't get the full potential of it in the stop and go traffic..
you can get a little something out of the D15b7 but not much.... might go mini-me real soon
Best of luck to you my man. people personal testimonies and articles don't lie..

Im rocking the 4-1 ceramic on my d16z6 engine and had absolutly NO PROBLEMS with it. The only hard part about the header was fitting it in from underneath. You cant put it in from the top.

Excellent high end power (not that you gain much) but my engine breathes much better.

4-2-1, and 4-1, and whatever brand name you get won't matter, a dc sports or a ebay model,... the diffrence is not noticable, 2-3hp.. shrug

save your money

i had a d15b7 to before and i had a DC 4-2-1 header, AEM intake, highflow cat and exhaust. the whole set up helped my car breathe better but thinking back on the money spent, its not worth it. it'll be fun at first because of the noticeable difference but in the long run you'll still feel that its not enough and you cant do much anymore because of the low potential of the D15B7. at least thats what i experienced. good luck on your project bro
