which header is more beneficial
hi. i am new to this site. i have a 95 civic ex with i/e and a ricer test pipe. i want to get a new header but am not sure which will give the type of power that i am looking for. 4-2-1 or 4-1? unfortunately my car is an automatic. i still try.

general rule of thumb/consesnus is 4-2-1 is better for midrange, and 4-1 is better for top end. But, if you were to get a nice 4-1 w/ a tri-y collector, and equal length piping you would have the best of both worlds.

ahhh, man, do I feel your pain. Well, I just put on a set of cheap azz 4-2-1 headers from ebay. I noticed quite a bit of torque in the lower end, and surprisingly some towards the top end. From what I have heard, 4-2-1 is for low-mid range power, and for 4-1 it's more towards the high-end. I would suggest the 4-2-1 to give your auto more oomph after the eternity it takes to find the right damn gear, after a initial go it'll plop your right into the low end and you'll be screwed. trust me, I know. unless of course you have some work done to your TC...goodluck...
