I know that the D16Y7 manifold has the cat built into the manifold, but other than that will a header made for D16Y8 fit if I don't use the cat or find a replacement?

When I tried it in my HX, which has an exhaust manifold like the y7, it didn't quite reach with a "normal" sized donut gasket.

I ended up getting a used oem cat and an exhaust for an ex.

So with a oem y8 header and cat, it bolts up perfectly to a y7? Can I just use a y8 cat with the stock y7 header?

is the cat part of the header on the y7? i know it's right under.my cat is bad and o2.

yes on the y7 the cat is built into the header, get an aftermarket header and EX cat and your set, you just need to extend your secondary 02 sensor wires to under the car

Actually, I found out that the holes on the y8 header don't line up with the studs on a y7 head. Oh well...
