I'm doing a B16A Turbo swap in my hatch.. Anyways, starting to install the cams, I see that theres a "small plate" inside the head right next to the valve springs/retainers. I try to pull it out with a small screw driver slowly, and it won't come out, but it moves.

Does it look like something from off the head? Or is it something that I might of accidently dropped in there? I posted some pics below, please let me know.

Also, is there any specific amount of torque needed to bolt down the cam holders?

I think its definately something you dropped in there (blurry) didn't see anything like that when I was doing mine besides de valve cover grommets. A magnet on a stick should get it out?

Yeah I hope I just dropped something. I don't think a small plate is really on a valve retainer/spring. Lol.

i think spec is 12ft/lbs on the cam capbolts

so I just use a torque wrench? 12 on the cap bolts, what about the others?

Also what do you think that little plate is??

its the washer that goes in between the head stud and the nut goes on top of that

Ahh, so just take it out? lol

get a strong magnet. it is very easy to drop those when installing head studs. i used a magnet and a flathead to get mine on.

where can I find the torque specs?

if you have ARP's they are 80 with the stuff they give you. i hope they are not stock head studs but if they are i think the torque spec is 62 ft lbs?

if your talking about the cam caps the bigger bolts are 16 and the small ones on the outside are 8 ft lbs for a b16 if its an ITR head its 18 and 8
