H22 in EG Prices
I was quoted at my local speed shop for $6,000 for a complete swap. Is this a fair price or should I take my buisiness elsewhere? Also what would be a fair price for a swap??

Re: H22 in EG Prices (supertrogdor)
I've put an entire swap in for $3200 before; however, this is obviously not putting in the best stuff everywhere. But if you are thrifty and can find good deals and what not, you can do it for around $4000 easily.
**** if you are able to spend $6,000 on it, and you don't have the tools to do it yourself, just go and get the parts and spend the $1500 - 2,000 extra on tools for a lifetime.

I could see 6k being decent if there were alot of extra parts they were selling you. Extra parts can easily add up on this swap. I'm in the middle of getting everything together for my h22 eg project and I've probably spent over 5k just on the motor and extra parts for the swap.

That's a good bit. Look up the guy from H22CREW on Honda-Tech and see how much his swap cost, but that sounds too high. The mounts and shift linkage and things of that nature should be brought into account but it's a $2,000 engine (if it's not JDM Spec). That would make it the same amount as a B18C5 swap with a Greddy Evo2 Exhaust. You should look somewhere else yo.

Yea, for just the engine. He's talking about engine and installation.

That's understandable for an engine but think about it. Hypothetically speaking if the engine was $2,300 why would you spend another $3,700 installing it? That's far too much.

You will not be able to install an h22 into a civic for $2300 price of the swap from any reseller. You will need mounts, axles, and various other replacement maintainence parts.

Re: H22 in EG Prices (DarkKnight[DMD])
Hasport mounts and axles will probably run you about $900 from the shop installing it. Shift linkage, intake of some kind, exhaust work will all cost extra as well. Thats about the bare minimum amount of parts you will need.

Damn thats a lot of cash man. You could definitely find a cheaper price by shopping around. i got mine for a lot less.
H22a4 engine: 800
h22a tranny: 500
p28 ecu: 125
ebay header: 135
integra axles: 100
jdm **** h22 chip: 130
used o2 sensor: 50
hcp mounts: 270
act heavy duty clutch: 330
Total price: 2440
This is of course doing the swap on my own and searching for good prices. as you can see i went the cheap way with the header but i just was trying to do the swap on the lowest budget possible.

Depends on what extra parts they are selling you. For 6k and no extra parts, then you are getting ripped off.
Heres my breakdown:
h22a engine/tranny/ecu - 2100
hasport mounts - 500
hasport axles - 400
quaife - 900
shift linkage - 80
ITR intake - 70
greddy ss header with 2.5" collector - 450
Invidia cat back - 450
obx cat - 60
aem fuel rail - 115
B&M fuel gauge and fpr - 135
act flywheel & exedy clutch - 500
wire harness conversion - 150
spare h22a and vx wire harness - 140
vafc 2 - 300
Total - $6350
Theres also a estimate to install/dyno tune will probably be around $1500-$2000.
