H22
ok so im about to place my order for my H22 motor.. it is going in a 1994 honda del sol base model only weighs 1856 pounds.. had it weighed.. and im planning on doing weight reduction to get it around 1500 pounds.. so ill be able to offset the weight issue with the H22.. plus its only 50-80 more pounds then a b18. but i am not ordering a tranny yet bc ive heard the H22 is low gearing.. so my question is what trannys will mount to the H22 and provide power threw the rpm band.. like 2.5 grand to about 6.. i am planning on boosting it.. so that should help a little bit

^^^ he asked about the h22 it seems thats what he is set on.
anyway the best tranny for boosting i think is the h23 accord tranny. i forget the code but if you check the faq's in the prelude section you should be able to find it.

Re: H22 (mysol)
almost positive ur del sol doesnt weight 18xx i have 2 delsols 94 and 95 and neither weight under 2400lbs...i think u need to get it weighted in pounds lol j/k is it just a shell? that sounds right maybe for a shell but curb weight...uh uh bud. i have one with 1 seat, a bare dash, steering wheel, carbon hood and trunk and it only weights 2160lbs...good luck with the 1500lbs.

The weight thing shouldn't be that much of a concern, especially if this is a DD. The best tranny option would probably be a H2B kit + a B16 or Type R tranny.

m2s4 i believe is the tranny code for the h23. and i think bluize256 was saying he should get a gsr tranny with the h2b plate.

Re: H22 (RiceKillinSI)
I think you choice in tires is gonna determine what tranny you should use. traction will be an issue with h2gsr. if you on radials i would have to say keep you H tranny, its made for the tq of the H, the B tranny will break down faster.
boost with F tranny ftw
boost with F tranny ftw
