H-Tech Tein Lowering Springs with Stock Struts on EK?
Hey guys,
The answer is obviously out there, but I have yet to come across anyone with this experience. (Or just haven't shared it...) Tell me your stories and if it is a good idea to go with this setup and buy a few years' time before upgrading shocks.
I drive like a grandpa, so I'm really careful with my car!
Thank you

uhhh no bad idea. idk how you didn't find the answer i've seen it plenty of times without ever even asking the question myself.
basically sometime somewhere you'll blow a shock or shocks. they are not meant to work with the kind of loads and pressure you'd be throwing at them with it being on lowering springs.
get shocks too. you'll regret it much sooner then years if you don't.

I had s techs with stock shocks for about 6-8 months, no problems. The problems started after I spent $450 on Koni yellows. Screw Koni.

i got my car with tien springs already on it so i dont know how long they've been on there and now 7 months later i dont feel any problems with the stock shocks. then again i dont really know how a blown shocks feels. all i know my car is pretty stiff on that setup.

Thanks! That's a helpful answer. Your shocks are probably blown if you bounce around A LOT, after braking at a light, etc.
Here's another wild one - my car is almost 13 years old and still on stock struts. I'm VERY protective of my car, even though most people could care less. +1 for broke college kids!

Actually, H techs and stock shocks would be ok. Assumeing they aren't blown already.
The springs actually have quite low spring rates, and really don't lower much.
Even s techs and stock shocks would be ok.

True, they're both pretty soft springs and don't lower the car very much.

Looked at the mileage on my car = 172K haha, I'll have to do this for now.
I'll let you know if my struts ever give out. HONDA reliability!
