H&R or Tein
Hey
Im lowering my car soon, and I cant decide between Tein Stech springs or H&R sports.
Can anyone give me a recomendation? Anyone have pics? Thanks in advance.

personally I wouldn't waste my time with either, Im currently running Tein S-tech springs and my car is 4x4 with about three finger gap up front and two on the rear (just ordered omni sports ). From what Ive seen the H&R sports are the same. If you do not want to bother or do not have money for coilover/shock combo then the s-techs are a great alternative and you could run your stock shocks and not worry about camber. any reason that you haven't considered coilovers? just curious. ride height adjustability is nice. im rockin the tein ss's and love em. theyre not quite stiff enough for serious autox like the tein ra's but theyre better than anything else out there imo. gc coilovers and agx's are a decent setup if you're on a budget.
if coilovers aren't what you're looking for, h&r race springs are nice, i had em matched with koni yellows and liked em alot. they sit really low tho. speedbumps beware

H&R race springs are a whole different ball game from the sports. The race springs lower your car a lot more than sports and you will eventually need some aftermarket shocks.

i would save your money for a coilover system. if you want to eventually upgrade to coilovers, the 100-200 bucks you spent on springs could have gone towards them. tein makes great coilover's. i had typee ss on my 93 hatch and my 01 coupe and they were awesome. i just got a 94 hatch that i will be putting type flex on. plus type ss for eg civics is only like 920 bucks. if you have got enough for springs you got a good start toward coilovers. just my 2 cents.

i had a set of H&R sports on kyb gr-2's, nice ride quality with a decent drop, looked good. I plan on getting h&r race on agx's now, hoping it will ride decent.

You guys are going from $150 dollar springs to $1000 dollar coilover kit= big margin. Im also in college man and I know that **** is tough saving cash but honestly my suggestion will be saving up for some omni coilovers that are going for 650. If you go with the springs eventually you would want to upgrade to a coilover kit in the long run, just keep on saving money even if it takes you 6 months more. Good Luck
