H.I.D. and Driving lights (fog lights)
I will be upgrading to H.I.D. in 1 week.
I would like to know if anyone has H.I.D.s and driving lights(fog lights) together.
Is there is there any added benefit to both or should I just go w/ the H.I.D.s only?

Re: H.I.D. and Driving lights (2camsaam)
I have HID's and foglights. the foglights help with the ground closer to the front of the car. It's not a big difference, but it is noticable.. I have a pic of my HID's and Fog's on, but it's in my garage. Here you go:
I'm at college away from my car or I would go out tonight and take pics with the fog's on and off so you could see the difference. Maybe if i get time this weekend.

Retrofits are illegal, but so are PIAA Super White H4 bulbs. It's something that law enforcement may not notice, like 5G Civic clear corners that are technically illegal. A lot of people have these illegal items and haven't had problems, so it's up to you if you are willing to accept responsibility in the event you do get caught.

They are PIAA HID look-a-like bulbs.. I wanted them to look as close to my HID's as possible, and I was told they put out excellent light, and they do.

more light means better visability which is what your intentions of doing an hid conversion should be.
my previous set up

Get em if you can afford to get them. The only reason I am not getting hid fogs is because I think that my hid headlights put out enough light for me to see. If I had the money or get a good deal on hids, I would even pick them up tomorrow.
Anyone have a good deal on h3 hids??
The fogs may look better than my headlights. They have an almost perfect cut-off which means that I can put bright *** lights and not blind anyone.

Bwuuuwaahahahahaaaaa, its always HILARIOUS to me that people take pics of the light head on from their HID's to showoff the colors.
What YOU should be interested in is how much better the driving visibility and the light pattern is after swapping/adding HIDs (and fogs!)..
LOL... man I do miss the Hella/Phillips HIDs that I had on my Integra!!!!

Well.. Had you read my post you would know that that is the only pic i have of my lights since i put the foglights in. Once I have my car and some time I will take correct pics of the setup that show the lighting with the fogs on and off.

Re: H.I.D. and Driving lights (Outrun)
I know that retrofit kits are illegal, but I was told that vendors were not allowed to sell them anymore and thus inventory has run dry?

I agree, the PIAA Super Plasma's were closest match to HID's...
One bulb eventually blew out on me, so I replaced everything with HID's
Low Beams : 4100K OEM BMW Bosch Projectors
Driving Lights: Hella Mico DE 6000K Phillips Ultinon Retro fit.

Low beam: 8000k h4 hid kit.
High beam: 8000k h3 hid kit.
High beam: ????? h1 bulb ??.
some people say 8000k kit look like purple garbage, they look really white with a extremely light hint of blue. I love them and adjusted them so I have almost no glare. I even drove behind a cop and nothing happened.
If I had a digi cam I would have taken pictures.

Re: (SeaQuake)
So you're telling me that your 8000K HID's are White and a light hint of blue? Then my friend, I don't believe you have a true 8000K system. All the ones I've used and seen on the market are BLUE BLUE and bad for lighting in inclement weather.. I would be interested in what kind of housing you have that also gives no glare.

Very true. I have those at home.
However, my low beams look like an E46 BMW. The driving lights are Micro DE's... which are known to be pretty good for lighting. I do have some pics of when I had the HID's in the cheap projectors also.
