Guys is it really that easy
I have a 94 honda civic DX. Came with a cheap aram. But it works.
The first week i bought the car, it got broken into, somone took the $15 dollars from the car, and jacked the remote start from the trunk. (i believe the alaram was on) there was no break-in signs, no broken glass, no nothing.
Now today, after about a year, i come out to my car, and what do i see.
My trunk is open, and my passenger side door is open. i was like did i leave it open, and was like hell no.
i come to my car look inside and see that they tried to steal my cd player but could not get it out, so they broke it, i opened the trunk nothing was missing, checked the glove box everything was there.
My passenger side door was open, and the lock unlocked. ??????
The car's passenger door is broken to where it doesn't open with the key you have
to open from inside the car, so how did they get in.
also my driver side door was locked.

Sorry to hear that man, that really sucks. They don't sound like pro's. I suggest forgeting about electronic devices(alarms), since IMO 99% of them can be bypassed by someone who knows what they are doing. Go with locking mechanical devices...(garage doors, dual stage ignition keying etc). Hopefully next time those guys tries to jack someones sh*t they will get clubbed in the head

...Not if you have 3 different keys to your car
if you were a thief and had a key which opened only one door, would you get into a car from the driver side door, close the door, than lock it, than get out the passenger side door and leave it opened and unlocked.
i'm guessing they had that thing which the tow truck guys have that lock metal piece.

The onlt thief who goes through the trouble of cutting a key obviously doesn't want to damage the car, doesn't know how to really break into the car, or is just lazy.
If their key gets in but won't start the car, then it very well may deter the theif who tried to be "slick" and cut a ket from the VIN.

My friend's 88 civic (whole car)got stolen tonight while he was working at the mall. All he had were CDs visible. If your really that paranoid, then subscribe to one of the paging services that pages you when someone is near your car. the highlights the parts of a car that have been touched. They have them at a Altamiere, tint place here.
OR you can use deadbolts, like the one that was posted up a few days ago here.
