Re: GUDE stuff (typer 00-115)
I used to have a mild GUDE cam and racing ECU in my 93 civic (d16z6 sohc vtec). It *ok* but not worth the money i spent. It made pretty good power to 8200 rpms which was pretty cool though. Although after 40,000 miles of that i spun a rod bearing....the cam..of course..was a reground and was very shot.
When i was getting my engine rebuilt, the engine builder said they were amazed the cam lasted as long as it did. He said GUDE cams werent known to last along time. He also said regrounds are hard on the cyl head..although mine was in perfect condition.
If i was to do it over again, i would have bought the *big..big* race only cam and driven around on the street with that. But i left all that and went turbo
I hear very good things about the gude full race head...which they say adds around 40% power...which i can believe. I have a friend that was running mid 13's all motor with a d16z6 in a 95 civic coupe (somewhat theft recovery interior..but all good). He said he did it because his friends said he could never hit 13's with an all motor d16z6. The engine sounded pretty awesome though..very very lumpy cam. He said he want to gude, ordered the full head kit, and asked for the race only non street version. Of course though he drives this around on the street. The block is 100% stock..he revs it to ~8500rpms (just like i was doing).

Re: GUDE stuff (slowerthanu)
I also have a GUDE cam... Bill Gude siad that stiffer valve springs play a role in decreasing the life of the cam. The OEM valve springs are good to 8400rpm. If Gude goes to billet...it'd be the best thing since sliced bread. Or.. you can send your OE cam to Paeco and tell them the new specs for duration and they will mill a billet cam for you.

Re: GUDE stuff (MrDX)
I have a gude cam in my D15- it's been fine for the last 103,000 miles. I love it- I did order a cam from JG- they shipped me some experimental regrind by mistake that ran like ****- so I returned it for a TB. I wasn't impressed with JG's service.

Re: GUDE stuff (fixhondas)
My friends car has a JG in it right now and we weren't impressed at all. His fastest time was 15.515@88.9 with the stock cam and since he had to try real hard to get a 15.68@86.8 so now he is shoppin
