Default GSR swap into EJ8, having brake issues..

hey guys, so i just finished a JDM B18C swap into my 97 ex coupe. the only thing i can't figure out is the brake booster. I used the old vacuum line on the car, just re-routed it. It isn't kinked or anything.

I put the line from the booster, onto the only nipple on the intake that's the same size "larger than all the rest" thinking that must be where it goes, it did on the D series. Now i have no brake assist, it's all in my right leg "which is getting quite the work out lately"

Car running I pulled the line off the intake, to no surprise the idle jumped and there you have a vacuum leak. So i know it's not blocked somehow. The only thing i can figure is the D was say + vacuum and the B is - vacuum. however that makes no sense because the intakes have the same direction of flow. And i wouldn't think honda would differ on vacuum lines and pressures per say.

If someone has ran into this before and has a fix that'd be awesome, or just s fix haha. thanks ahead of time.

+ vacuum? It either has vacuum or it doesn't.

Disconnect the booster hose at the booster. Do you have vacuum? If no vacuum the check valve in the hose is bad.

The check valve isn't in the hose, it's integrated in the booster.

Straight from the '96-'00 Civic service manual:

----------------

To the OP: If the line is twisted where the check valve is the valve may not operate correctly.

Remind me to go back to the dealership and tell the parts guy I talked to literally two days ago how wrong he is.

yeah i know, + or - vacuum is a stretch. Was just toying around with the idea. I later thought into it more.

that would make sense, should i get an integra hose since it's formed a little straighter? or pick up a section of vacuum hose that doesn't have a valve?
