Gsr stalling when given gas
Yesterday after I left a light after I shifted into second my car went limp then died. I tried to crank again but it still wouldn't start. So I waited a few minutes then it finally turned on and idled normal. So I got in my car thinking everything was fine well as soon as my rpm went over 1500 the motor sputtered and died. Now all it dose is cranks but no turn on. It only starts when the motor is cold. But as soon as I rev the motor dies. I've checked the main relay tried another fuel pump checked ground on thermostat the idle control valve when the car starts I've checked the map sensor the injectors and it has spark cut as soon as I give it gas it dies.. Can anybody help me out I've never ran into a problem like this. The car is 98 civic coupe ex I'm running a p28 ecu and the car isn't throwing any cel's

Re: Gsr stalling when given gas
sounds like your timing belt slipped a couple of teeth. dont' drive it. get someone to check timing to see if that's it. if it's not, go from there, but i can almost guarantee that's it.
again, DON'T DRIVE IT. no use in making a small problem huge.

Is this a new swap? Have you checked for CEL codes?
Mechanical timing is not checked with a timing light. Make sure the cams and crank pulley are synchronized at TDC1.

I bought the car running with the swap in it and that was about 3 months ago. When I short the service connector the cel light just stays on. What is the tdc1

you should just go buy a new distributor from any aftermarket store that offers a lifetime warranty, believe me i replaced mine twice in one year, cost is somewhere between 200-300$
