drivin home from work at home depot on a main road with a speed limit of 35 or 40 and just felt like hearin vtec so i got on it a lil bit, unbenounced to me there was a cop COMING THE OTHER DIRECTION who proceeded to turn around and come after me, he says: "i heard you coming and when you saw me you hit your breaks which told me that you were the one speeding." Then he gives me the ticket and he says:

a. my exhaust is illegal
b. it was careless driving
c. it was driving at unsafe speed (which is what he checked off on the ticket)
d. failed to signal when changing lanes (that part is true, that was my only screw up)

here's where i don't know what to do,

I live in PA, where local cops DO NOT have radar detectors, yet he wrote i was going 60-70 mph, and he happened to observe this coming at me from the opposite direction?
This doen't make sense to me, makes me wantto fight it RIDLEY TOWNSHIP POLICE are known to be dicks.

Also, he said he only gave me the driving at unsafe speed ticket, which he said was no points and it came to $104.00

Should I fight it? and if i do, will they bring on the other charges? <U></U>

you can talk to the da or special prosecutor and maybe make a deal, usually thats just to get less points off your ticket but since none are being deducted im not sure what they will offer. ask them if there is a class you can take to get the fine lessened, personally i would just pay it but since there is really no evidence in either way you might be able to get the ticket dropped, just try to sound sorry and play the innocent person. think up a good excuse like your speedo is wrong because of new wheels and tires and you were not sure of how fast you were going as your still getting used to the new car. i dunno, but good luck

Hye just let it go and be glad he didnt give some more BS. I let my friend drive my ls1 camaro. He got on it and the cop gave him a ticket for drag racing. That is some BS plus a speeding ticket of 85 in a 45. I would just pay it unless your broke and cant afford to pay for your mistake.

i believe that i deserve a ticket, i was speeding and i didn't signal, but he cannot prove my speed and i guess it just pisses me off that the cop can say whatever he wants, i'm gonna pay it i guess...stinkin pigs

they always say that no points are taken off. its BS. maybe you wont for that but just saying they always say that. fight it get it reduced at least., oyeah i work a the depot too

i got a $95 for not using my turn signal, and then a $66 for tinted windows.

go to the city hall and fight it out if u cant just take drivers ed. some times it comes out cheaper than just paying the ticket plus they take it off your record. Know dont go speeding though i believe u on this one because if u take drivers ed they can only remove one ticket out of the year.

also i forgot.... they dont use no radars so there is no proof. Next time buy a radar if there legal in your state. Thats what i use and it saved me from some tickets.

cops always try to say they pulled you over for more then one thing, he said you were speeding and let you off as the lesser one because he cant really prove the speeding, and figures he gives you that fine and puts fear into you that if you fight it he will bring the speeding ticket against you
