stud might be stripped is all i can think of...causing your lug nuts to loosten a lot easier while driving from the vibrations of the road and constant movement...Just what I think could be wrong

I was thinking that also. How long ago did it first happen? I'm thinking it has to be the studs or lugnuts if when you tightened them it corrected the problem, even if only for a day. Is the sound more pronounced at high speeds? Low speeds?

my old car was doing that, then one day coming off the highway, I couldn't even turn. I pulled over and there was one lug nut barely holding the wheel on. It was like /. Really cute...broke all of the studs off. I think my ******* ex loosened them.

this just started like two days ago, fixed it that night, came back the next day after a lil driving, and then, today, hasnt done it at all so far, so i dunno, sounds more pronounced during lower speeds just because you can hear it better, vs. when u get faster the thuds are happending so fast u cant really hear them as well. I dunno ill keep an eye on the lugnuts and lug studs, ne other ideas?

yeah if you have aftermarket rims, you should really keep an eye on the torque. id retorque those lugnuts again (to 80ft/lbs). i know this exact thing happened to me by in the psgrs front and sure enough, the lug niuts werent torqued enough.
