Good price for GSR swap into eg w/ labor?
I was just curious what an average price for a gsr swap into an eg goes for, including labor. Basically, drive the car to the shop and drive away with the gsr motor. I drive a '95 cx and the shop I went to had a '94 obd1 jdm b18c. They quoted me about $4600 to $4700 for everything (new timing belt, fluids, everything to get it running right and perfect). Get back ASAP. Thanks.

I would want a new clutch on there as well for that price.
EDIT: and water pump.

yea new clutch and a definate 60-90 day warranty on the motor. the warranty is a must for the price your going to pay. the shop should honor if they stand behind there work and products

Yeah, I don't remember what else would be replaced. But he listed off the basics, and I believe that included the water pump. I inquired about the clutch, but they said I could use the one that came with the swap (they had a rhd front clip) since it probably had less than 40k miles. I don't know about a warranty, but I'm sure there is one or I could just return and they'd fix anything if anything went wrong. It was a small father/son shop and they were real nice. They seemed to know their shi+. Here is their website:

Any other opinions? What do you think? So is this too much to pay? Thanks for the responses.

you can use the one that came with the motor.. but for that price, you should demand a brand new ACT clutch or whatever clutch you want. Honestly, that actually is a lot of money. GSR swap cost bout $3000, and all that **** replaced while the motor out is actually not that hard at all. I would look elsewhere if i were you.
