good price for gsr head - ls/vtec?
I got a stock D16Z6 a month ago and I want to swap it with a B series. Will sell the complete D16 after this.
Someone is selling full swap everything complete with gsr head, gsr s80 tranny,
95 teg b18b1 bottom end and P72 ECU, harness, mounts, etc for $1800 locally.
Is this a good price? I don't know jack about gsr/ls motors so I will appreciate any help.
Of course I will check compression, mileage, etc but overall is this a good price? Can I run at max 10psi boost with stock internal with this setup?
Also, what's the HP/TQ ballpark with this combo?

Not to be a dick but I honestly know nothing about LS/VTEC setups.
However, I have seen many similar threads before, if you use the search I'm sure you'll get tons of threads back. You'll probably get your answer that way.

If you were going to buy (the motor) online.. Hmotorsonline.com buddy bought an h22 off that site, no problems. Locally is always nice.

It would cost you way more in the long run to build your own. The tranny (if it's in good shape) would sell for 500 alone. Figure 400 or so a complete head (300 if you haggle)
the machine work has already been done though, and the ecu comes with it. That's a good deal.
Now the bad part..... LS/VTECs are super easy to put together. That makes them cheap to do, but very unreliable when not done right. However, if the money is spent in the right places, they are very strong and reliable. So, if some joe schmo slapped one together in his garage, i'd be weary. Ask for the receipts of all the parts used. Timing belt, water/oil pump. What LS/VTEC kit was used (if any) or was it just off the shelf plumbing parts.
If everything seems legit, then it's worth it. On stock internals, if the pistons are the still the b18 ones, the engine will make around 140 whp if healthy, but the compression will be friendly for a turbo. With good tuning, you can make 350 whp easily at 10psi. (of course there are LOTS of factors that go with that, but you wanted general numbers)
if there are ITR pistons or high compression "somethings" in there, it's possible to make upward of 180 whp or more, depending on the tune and whether or not that ecu is stock or chipped.
really, these numbers could be ANYTHING. Without more info on the build, what parts etc. Also, when you say you're gonna boost 10psi, you don't say if you're doing it with a a t3 DSM turbo, or a GT28. So those power figures are gonna be different also. Based on say just a bolt on DRAG kit, with t3/t4 and a good Hondata tune, on stock internals, you can do 350whp.
