You could buff the area with a very fine polishing compound if it isn't the safety coated windshield. Don't apply too much pressure or buff in one spot too long if it is tempered glass else it will shatter. Another thing you might try is the two-part epoxy they sell to fill bullet holes. Again, not recommended on the windshield. Eh, what glass is it?

I was going to buy a new windshield once but the glass guy ended up buffing it with a scotch pad. This made it look near new again. Might work for you. GL.
