Gear shift **** removal
Can somebody tell me how to remove the shift **** on a Civic SI '99. There seems to be something that attaches the boot to bottom of the shift **** ???

You're going to have to take off the center console around the shifter. It's a pain in the ***, hte boot is attached to the console and is then screwed onto the shift lever and clipped onto the shift ****.
I should have taken pics when I put my momo on.

Just grab the boot underneath the trim ring and pull straight down (pull hard!). It will come right off, and you just twist the **** to unscrew it. When reinstalling, you just wist the **** on, fit the tabs on the bottom of the **** into their respective places on the hole in the boot trim ring, and pull straight up to clip it on.
It is simple and easy!!! No console removal necessary unless you need to remove the boot from the car!!!
